Permanent Full time Cook Required - Hawthorne Seniors Care Community is seeking applications for Level 1 Cooks.
The successful candidates will have cooking certification from a recognized cooking program and a current Food Safe certificate.
Must be an effective communicator and work well with a team. Must have working knowledge of special diets.
Previous experience cooking for seniors and/or residential care residents is an asset.

Resident Care Coordinator:  We currently have an opportunity for casual Resident Care Coordinators in our Complex Care Program.

In keeping with the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Hawthorne Care Centre, provides professional Nursing care to residents; offers leadership and assistance to other staff members of the Complex Care Program; and participates in and facilitates interdisciplinary, resident-centred care to achieve desired resident quality of life outcomes.

Reporting to the Director, Resident services, coordinates the day-to-day operations and supervises the performance of program staff while on shift. May provide direct care for residents while on shift. Assists the Director in assessing clinical development needs, staff interests, orientation, continuous quality improvement, and research and education programs. Leads and/or participates on committees, task groups and special projects as required.


Education, Training and Experience

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Advanced preparation in gerontological nursing. Five years gerontology experience with at least two years working at a supervisory level. Training and experience in the management of persons with renal disease


An equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Manager.


Current practicing membership in either CRPNBC or CRNBC.

Resident Care Aides: Hawthorne Seniors Care Community is seeking casual Resident Care Aides to work as part of a team providing care to residents to enable them to achieve desired quality of life outcomes. This includes assistance with personal care functions and procedures related to the physical, spiritual and recreational needs of the resident. Service Support Workers: Hawthorne Seniors Care Community is seeking Casual Service Support Workers, to provide  housekeeping and dietary service on a casual basis for vacation & sick leave relief. Starting date ASAP.  Your daily duties will include providing support services to residents including, but not limited to; making beverages and food items such as tea, coffee and toast, ensuring that food is served in accordance with dietary requirements of the residents, perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and damp mopping floors, cleaning resident rooms, cleaning general resident areas, removing garbage as required and other related duties as assigned. 


  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
  • Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
  • Current Workplace Hazardous Material Information’s Systems certificate.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Building Service Worker Certificate or related work experience preferred.
  • Previous Long Term or Residential Care experience preferred.
